So... Obama backup in (and cover of) a Spider-Man issue. Weak attempt to drum up sales?

I forget where I saw it, but apparently it was a post on the Grand Comics Database list.

Rumors state this is a one-storyline flashback, not a new status quo.

I played (A)D&D fairly regularly from '81-'91, although not in a stable campaign. Along the way, I also played Star Frontiers, Traveller, GURPS Star Trek, and a particularly amusing Paranoia session (as I recall, I executed half the team for treason DURING THE BRIEFING), among others, but we always went back to D&D. Fell out of the habit after college, as I didn't have an active group, nor the extroversion necessary to find a new one.
I've never played an MMORPG, but I did try various MUDs, MUSHs, and MUSEs during college. They didn't appeal, as I never found an online party that a) shared my online schedule, or b) actively welcomed new players.
I left gaming before 3.0 came out, but I'll admit to being somewhat curious about 4th edition.

And I also couldn't care less. When Spider-Girl is gone, I'm out of comics. Except for the occasional Marvel Essential, DC Showcase, and the Titan Books reprints of those old James Bond and Modesty Blaise strips. I am done with Big Two comics (except for collections of stories I already own, like All-Star Supes and maybe FC). But there are still a handful of indies I support.

I can't help but note that for all of his grand planning, Bendis's direction for the next several months is basically derived from Warren's decision to write Norman as a stock Ellis Bastard.

You're welcome. Otto Octavius? Now THERE'S an archenemy who deserves to be kept around. Especially "white suit Otto". He'd be great as a Marvel equivalent to the Penguin, don't you think? With just a dash of Calculator....

Really, those two traits aren't even compatible.
If there's one quality that's required to pull off a Xanatos GambitTM, it's self-control. I think even his supporters would suggest Norman lacks that.

There's a lemma I would like to add:
The Monolithic Alien Race. Usually warriors, sometimes scientists, magicians, or musicians. The pulps did it, Trek did it, and comics are STILL doing it.
Put in the work, guys.

Considering that Patrick Stewart has played Scrooge once or twice, it should be possible to take these two versions and, using modern editing technology, edit them in such a way that Steward replaces Scott. Some years ago, Stewart did a one-man show where he'd go onstage and read the story, playing all the parts (with different voices, of course). I've heard a CD, it's quite impressive. Especially the party scenes....

This is one of my faves too. Other things I've noticed:
1. Ignorance & Want (and to a lesser extent Tim himself) are scary-looking kids. 2. Woodward doesn't play Present as full of bonhomie as (for example) Brian Blessed might He has a real touch of malice in the callbacks to earlier Scrooge lines. 3. Scott manages to actually play "post-Crisis Scrooge" fairly understated, as opposed to the whooping goofball he's often portrayed as.
