Nerdgasm....
With 2009 being nothing but specials and an all-but confirmed "clean slate" confirmed for season five, I was very much afraid that they wouldn't follow up on Donna Noble's fate worse than death ending, especially given what a kick in the balls ending the character suffered (mindwiped and reverted back to her pre-wedding self).
I just hope they include a scene where Donna gets to punch the Doctor as soon as her mindwipe is reversed and maybe even tie in the return of Donna towards how and why #10 regenerates, as far as the Doctor sacrificing his own life to save Donna and becoming #11 in the process.

Hell, people were online predicting this damn well before the credits had fully rolled on "Journey's End."
That said -- Simm? Tate? AND BEHOLD THAT RING!

No comment from Pogue on the fetish-tastic Dalek girls? FOR SHAME

I like Daleks, I like girls, I like fetish, but the three of them all added up don't do much for me. Hell, I like metal bikinis more than just about anyone, and the Cyberwoman in "Torchwood" didn't do much for me. I guess I just keep my fetish and my Whovianism separate . (Hell, probably the hottest I've ever found a Who woman was Donna in her wedding gown!)

Spoilers for the Specials, Part 2: Holy shit, Christmas just came early. "So, then ... what's your name, again?" "Luke ... his name is Luke, Doctor." Sad Sarah Jane is sad. "Careful, Luke!" (The Doctor is apparently saving Luke from a car in this scene.) "Oh, thanks, I ... *gasp!* it's YOU!" FATHER AND SON. I DECLARE THIS CANON. Source:

Luke SMITH, no less. Who else would but John Smith to be his pop?
Anyone know what this is from, by the way? I've always been a little unclear on exactly how many specials there are actually going to be -- three overall, three plus the two Xmas specials, three plus one Xmas, or something else entirely. Seems a little early for them to be filming Christmas, but it also feels odd that whatever special includes so many old companions returning wouldn't be the last one.

"He will knock four times"
And if that isn't one hell of a clue as to what happens to Ten at the end of the season then I don't know what is.
Planet of the Dead has a lot of neat little tidbits in it, and I for one want Michelle Ryan back as a full time companion to David Tennant. Too bad he's leaving.
But all in all, A high tech Tardis doesn't work for me. Sorry. I love the current design. But then I've always enjoyed the more steam punk victorian styles of Tardis control room than the white wall circles. It suits the character in all his incarnations better. It always surprised me that during the Davison era, with it's reductions in focus on technology, that one of the few things that was upgraded was the TARDIS control console.
I would love at least one adventure of the new series to take place entirely in the TARDIS itself. One of my favorites of the Tom Baker years is Invasion of Time because of the amount of time they actually spend winding their way through the TARDIS.

Hell, I'm amazed the DOCTOR didn't add up the clues in that bit of prophecy. There's literally only one person in the universe it could refer to.
I do wonder what the "it" is that will return. Not a whole lot of "its" out there besides Gallifrey itself.

Hell, I'm amazed the DOCTOR didn't add up the clues in that bit of prophecy. There's literally only one person in the universe it could refer to. Funny you should mention that ... LINK to spoilery rumors regarding the specials and Season 5:If any of this is true, then let me just say PATRICK STEWART HELL YEAH You KNOW he's enough of a nerd to do it. I have to say, though, that even for a show that brought back original series characters as obscure as the Macra, the Meddling Monk seems a bit ... off, somehow, as a choice for The Next Time Lord To Be Revealed As Still Alive All Along. Especially given all the talk of the Moff attempting more of a "clean break" from the Rusty era, it seems to me that the show would need a Time Lord who could be brought back without either a) another damned fob-watch or b) automatically opening the door to the return of the rest of Gallifrey (at least just yet, anyway). So, of all the other Time Lords out there, which ones should have survived the death of Gallifrey? After all, it's not like any Time Lords who had close, personal relationships with the Doctor were ever, say, cursed with immortality by Rassilon OH WAIT Yes, that's right, I'm calling it now: PATRICK STEWART AS BORUSA, BABY Think about how much mileage the show could get out of a character whose core concept is that he was the Doctor's MENTOR - especially given how much the modern version of the show has built up the Doctor HIMSELF as this incredibly old and unknowable force - with the added bonus of OH NOES THIS ONCE-UPSTANDING MAN AND FORMER FRIEND TO THE HERO WENT MAD WITH POWER It doesn't hurt that Borusa went mad during the Fifth Doctor's era, since the Moff loves his Fivey, and already seems to be following in JNT's footsteps on that score. As for how Borusa recovered from being reduced to a living statue in Rassilon's tomb ... well, hell, if only there was a preexisting archenemy of the Doctor who could counter such eternal stasis with unlimited powers of destructive, chaotic change OH WAIT Yes, it's a long-shot bet, but it could still happen, especially since he's ALSO a character who featured in the JNT Fivey episodes: THE BLACK GUARDIAN, BITCHES Because Borusa, as played by Patrick Stewart, PLUS the Black Guardian, as played by Ian McShane with a dead bird on his head, calling everyone around him a "cunt" and a "cocksucker" in signature Deadwood fashion, WOULD BE AWESOME MOFF, IF YOU ARE LISTENING, YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN
