Some of you might be completely new to this community.
Others of you might already be known to us, but simply using different online handles than the ones that we know.
And yet others might be known to all of us longtime members of the community, but unknown to the newcomers.
Whichever the case, say hi and share some stuff about yourselves here, however minor.

The details of my life are quite inconsequential.... Very well, where do I begin?
I'm almost 40 years old, which means that I've spent over half my life online. And I know far too much trivia about sci-fi, fantasy, and comics. These days, I'm mostly into steampunk and Gold Digger (the comic, not the song).

I'm 36, Swedish and a polygeek: games (computer, board and roleplaying), comics, movies (SF/fantasy and other), TV, math etc. I work in law enforcement.* My current geekly interests are focused on 4E D&D, CoH/V and the upcoming TV season. * As a filing clerk.

I'm mid-40s and very married. I write and translate for a living. Translation is mostly anime and manga, with the occasional business stuff. I've written novels, short stories, comics, pretty much everything under the sun, and even get people to give me money for it most of the time.
For me, geek is hard work.

Michael Paciocco Canadian, 28 (at least for a few more days) Mechanical Engineer working on Masters degree in Fluid Dynamics research. Been reading comics since I was 5. Reed Richards was an early inspiration for science (because he had a GODDAMNED FLYING CAR), and thus, my career path. Here is my blog: pacioccosmind.blogspot.com/ Here is a sample of the posters I'll put on from time to time (get used to it).

Marc Mielke. Hope my new avatar posts right. I am an underemployed tech currently working as an agent for a local Maui-based commuter airline.
My list of interests is huge, and I can usually pretend to be interested in stuff I'm really not, and save that to make conversation later.

Ken, 29, lives in Mass. Hopeless geek that contributes reviews and what not to the Manga Recon. I also have my own LJ, which can be found here.

I'm Mark. I'm 49--50 in January. (Dear god! I remember being ten years old and calculating that in the unimaginably distant year 2000* I would 41! "I'll be ooooold!" I thought. Forty-one doesn't seem so old anymore.... I read SF & fantasy, novels and on-line short (fan)fic almost exclusively. Hardly ever short stories in magazines any more. I read comics occasionally, but only when I get the trades from the library or--rarely--buy a trade or even a few issues of She Hulk or Ultimate Spider-Man. Comics anymore are just too expensive to buy the way I used to--and not interesting enough, for the most part, even if I were so inclined. The LJ community Scans_Daily keeps me abreast of what's going on the world of comics, though, and points out the especially good or bad comics. I write SF & fantasy. Once upon a time I wanted to be published, but eventually realized that I could write for my own entertainment (as I'd been doing for years) without bothering with trying to get published, and since the vast majority of fiction writers have day jobs to pay their bills, and I didn't want a second job--that's what I do. I write fiction. I write fanfiction. I write in on-line games. I game. I've played D&D, Traveller, Gamma World, Metamorphosis Alpha, Champions, GURPS, Fudge, White Wolf games--the list goes on and on. Mostly I play online these days, though I just joined a face-to-face (Champions) game for the first time in years. I watch tv and movies and rant at the abject stupidity of many characters (some of my best fanfic--or anti-fanfic, really--has come out my frustrations with stupid characters). I'll sit through wooden acting, clunky dialogue, cheesy costumes, lame SFX, and cheap sets...if the characters are smart and the plot is sharp. But if the characters aren't at least as smart as I am**, it drives me crazy. *When we'd all be flying to work in hovercars and vacationing on the moon--or at least in orbital hotels, of course. **No claims of genius, but Jesus Christ, people! Don't you have two brain cells to rub together? Do you not have the sense god gave animal crackers? Sadly, too often...no, they don't.

Jard Davis 40 years old. I'm the resident Grumpy Old Man. And yes I know there a few older than I am but I am still the grumpiest. I am grumpier by far than thou. Oh yes, quite shockingly grumpy.
I live in Denver, Colorado. I have served in two seperate branchs of the military. I have a soon to be 17 year old daughter, who draws better than I did when I was her age. And wants to draw cartoons for a living. I fix computers at a cancer clinic for a living. I lift heavy things for fun. I ride miles and miles on a metal thingy with wheels for fun. Winter sucks. It can go away on January 2nd so that I may have more riding time over the year.
Nine times out of ten I can see both sides of the argument. This drives people crazy.

I'm Tom. I'm 44 years old and a librarian. I spend most of my time in Peoria, Illinois, and part of the time in www.cityofheroes.com/. I met Kirk and many of the others here on the defunct Warren Ellis Forum. I occasionally post things of interest on jackolantern.livejournal.com/. (By the way, for those of you who read my LJ, I have gotten the Mac mini and it is bitchin'.)

I'm Henry, quasi-unyappy bastard at the old K-Box forum and the older K-Box forum and have once ate my body weight in mentos. But ran into most people here on the various delphi forums such as the WEF and the MWF among others.
Working retail in between getting a degree while living in exile, Minnesota and posting various crap on my blog and my art place in between spats of shaking my fists at the big waffle stuck to my ceiling or whatever.
