Two years ago today, my son Armand was diagnosed with a terribly aggressive cancer that left him with about an eight percent chance of seeing his third birthday. Many of our friends rallied to our side. Two years later, the cancer is gone but the friends are still here . We gathered everyone today for a combination late birthday/celebrate-life/Little Hero party. This really turned into "All the adults sit on the back porch while a dozen kids eat cake and ice cream and scurry all over the swingset." Worked out just fine in my opinion. Here's my favorite pic: I particularly love how his little sister Autumn-Rose's intrusion off to the side gives the whole thing sort of a "The Authority"/comic book cover layout. People of ACTION protecting their apples and milk! And here's Autumn-Rose striking an iconic Jenny Sparks/Jenny Quantum pose: Thanks a lot for everything, gang. Two years down. Year Three begins right now .

Awesome pics from what must have been an awesome day. I wish I could have been there.
