OK, here's the story;
So, I found, much to my surprise, there's a used book/CD/other junk store.
Turns out they have back issues of comics - mostly due to the fact that one of the store guys used to run a comic and sports card place I used to frequent back in the Speculator heyday (late 80s/early 90s) that went down with the bust. And he's willing to be reasonable on prices (mostly cover price except for the shit he KNOWS is worth something the way any good collector would).
So, I'm putting together a list of things from his stated collection (mostly early 90s, but also 80s and maybe even a bit of late 70s material). there are a few holes in my collection I've been meaning to plug (I just need one more issue to finally complete the Simonson FF run!), and some stuff I'm after for general purposes (GruCap).
So, what are some of the "hidden gems" of the late 80s and early 90s that you would recommend that I could get for a bargain? Nothing past 1996 would be my wager here.
Also, if there's anything you're looking for, let me know.

If he has that, hunt down GrimJack, Jon Sable Freelance, and the Roger Stern/John Byrne run on Captain America.
All of them early 1980s, but maybe you're lucky.

If you like sci-fi comics, DC put out a mini called Spanner's Galaxy that had potential.
(yes, it was s serious STAR WARS ripoff, but a GOOD one)
For the 90's, there are the usual suspects. CHRONOS, CHASE, and XER0
