I think the terminator is a popular one because most of the cinematic action shots tend to just be Arnold solo shots that are extremely easy to insert against other scenes from other movies. This is especially true of T2: Judgement Day. Just go see that the Gattling Gun scene is used in all the fan trailers. That's the kind of scenes you need to splice together a fan trailer - solo shots of a character doing something. I doesn't work as well for say, Aliens or Predator, because they are usually interacting/killing some other actor.
