The only thing I've seen regarding a cause of death is complications following surgery yesterday, with some folks saying it was emergency surgery. If it wasn't an emergency, it certainly wasn't expected to be serious, as he was scheduled for a signing on Thursday.
Sunday was his birthday. His apparently final project, the animated adaptation of All Star Superman, released today.
Yeah, I think Fuck You Universe about sums it up.

According to Jimmie Robinson, it was extremely sudden and unexpected. Apparently, he had a store signing scheduled for today or tomorrow (I'm vague on that), so... yeah. Fuck.
