*sigh* I was really hoping that he'd make it to the important votes on the health care goals he's been working on for years. But when he didn't even make it to his sister's funeral, I was fairly certain that this was coming.
A brain tumour that big, at 77, is pretty much a warning to start getting your affairs in order and to start saying your good byes.
Not intending to sound cruel or hard hearted, but I'm actually kind of surprised he lasted this long.
Honestly, I credit sheer force of will and desire to see health care through to the end -- and of course, he started putting that affair in order months ago, although he didn't succeed as he would have liked. I'm hoping that this snaps the progressives out of their funk and remember what's at stake here.
Kennedy had his flaws, but his life's work was important and will, I think, ultimately overshadow them.
