Our papers are now on their third publisher.
Kris sold the papers to Sound Publishing, and after about a year, Kris stepped down as publisher, mainly owing to the fact that he and Sound Publishing had different ideas on how to proceed.
So, Sound Publishing appointed Stuart as our new publisher. Stuart came from other Sound Publishing papers, and he was hired to help us finally get over the hump of transitioning to our new owners.
He might well have succeeded, if not for the fact that the economy hit the skids; as it stood, after a year of Stuart serving as publisher, Sound Publishing decided that our papers still weren't doing as well as they should be, even in light of the economy, so he was let go last week.
The good news from my end, as a member of editorial, is that Josh from Sound Publishing has reassured us that editorial is performing as well as Sound Publishing expects it to, so we're not next on the chopping block (indeed, according to Josh, one of the reasons why Stuart was let go was because "with the quality of editorial content that your papers have, Stuart's advertising team should have been able to sell a lot more ads than they did").
So, our new publisher, whom we met today, is DeAnna.
Except that I've met DeAnna already.
I feel very fortunate, in retrospect, that she enjoyed the story I wrote about her.
And yes, this does mean that I now have a "MILF Boss" IRL, although I highly doubt that our working relationship will proceed as my favorite porn would lead me to believe:
"Are you late to work again? Well, we're just going to have to come up with an ... incentive for you to show up early, aren't we? Get on your knees."
