... Like I just recently got my own LiveJournal backed up HERE, because LJ's future seems to be uncertain at best. Thanks to Tavella for the tip.

I don't know that my personal journal is worth backing up.
I may need to find a new home for the Mike's Comics blog, and I already do cross-posting at WordPress for the Bookseller By Night blog.
Don't you keep all these essays you write in Word?

I don't know that my personal journal is worth backing up. I may need to find a new home for the Mike's Comics blog, and I already do cross-posting at WordPress for the Bookseller By Night blog. Don't you keep all these essays you write in Word? I've saved my stories in Word, but I lost a lot of my Word copies of those anyway because of the crash of the old computer (almost all of them are still archived online, though). Of course, it's a moot point now because, with my new computer, the version of Word I have now is only trial software, and I'm not spending close to $100 bucks just to have the latest approved version of Word, so I'm a) writing certain things in Google Docs now and b) considering freeware word processing programs for the rest. As for my non-story essays, though? Hell no; that's what my LJ (and places like this forum) are for. I write those things, from start to finish, in the "post" window.

Kirk: check out Open Office. I think you'll like it. Heh. You and my dad are on the same wavelength. He just recommended that one to me.

Open Office is great. I've used it for years.
