As horrifically flawed as Cry for Justice was, KILLING PROMETHEUS was the one thing that redeemed the whole fucking thing in my humble opinion. ABSOLUTELY SAVED what would have been a SUPER-SHIT storyline.
Had they let Prometheus get away scott free, it would have ranked up there with Mark Millar's bullshit of "Evil wins, good sucks and deserves to be shitted on" notions of writing and worse. ESPECIALLY given the notions of the themes of the book: IE proactive super-heroism versus waiting around for shit to happen.
Prometheus was a monster who had killed hundreds of thousands of people, maimed and killed a large number of super-heroes AND villains and his actions. AND his actions killed the grand-daughter of one of DC's top super-heroes; a girl who had NEVER, EVER DONE ANYTHING TO ANYONE IN THE SUPER-VILLAIN COMMUNITY.
Bitch had to die.
Did they fuck up the fall-out? For Green Arrow, yeah. They blew it. But I like what they are doing with Arsenal as far as showing him completely coming undone over what was done to him.

Current rumor floating around is "social commentary/power decrease".
The rumored big plan for JMS's Superman run is that Clark's going to travel America, to try and fall back in love with Humanity following the whole "Earth wipes out his people" thing. And that he'll be doing this with a reduced power set, as far as going back to late 30s/early 40s Superman power set powers.
No clue about Lois Lane, though I should note that there are people in power in DC who DO hold the Clark/Lois marriage sacred (note how even Grant Fucking Morrison has to bow down to them). And given how OMD/BND has backfired horrifically on Marvel, NO ONE at DC probably will want to try and emulate THAT fail and AIDS debacle.

A major plot point of the Matt Fraction run was the fact that Emma discovered that Scott had a literal "black box" inside his mind that even Emma couldn't penetrate. Scott used this "black box" to hide X-Force's existence from Emma and LIED TO HER that it was just intel about the personal information of the mutants under his control. And that, in the event that he was captured or such, he needed to keep the information under lock and key so that it couldn't be used against the X-Men and the young mutants under their protection.
And it was stated that he was able to do this due to the fact that he was trained by Xavier and Jean Grey in the art of psychic defenses.

The worse thing though is EVERY "victory" Scott has had, have all come from EVERYONE ELSE saving his ass.
And you can't even blame Emma for Scott being a fuck-up since he's hidden X-Force from her and Emma's had to bail Scott out of several high profile jams, personally (Utopia anyone?).
So yeah, at the very least "Second Coming" needs to end with Scott, in disgrace, forced to resign from leading the X-Men and go away for a while. Preferably with Emma dumping him on the way out.

T-Bolts - I'm still waiting to see on Atlas. And I'm not convinced that's the real Zemo - possibly it's all part of Cage's first "test" of the new crew. Funny thing; the last we saw of Atlas was the almost immeadiately ignored "Last Defender" mini, which put him and She-Hulk on Nighhawk's new Defender team in New Jersey....

As for Arsenal, as bad as it seems, it at least makes sense in the sense that they are portraying Roy's downward spiral regarding his daughter's death realistic as far as showing that Lian's death has truly and utterly FUCKED ROY UP BEYOND ALL REPAIR.
Of course, it also ignores the fact that SOMEONE in the Teen Titans should be bugging Dick to play nice-nice with Talia as far as demanding her give up the location of a functioning Lazarus Pit for the purposes of raisng Lian from the grave. Or even Damian taking the lead and demanding his mom give up a Lazarus Pit to him, in exchange for a favor to be named later (which would make for some nice drama down the line as far as Talia CALLING IN THE FAVOR).
Wolverine Origin was destined to be ignored like it has been from the moment it started, due to Danial Way being made the writer of the book (having Loeb write one of the main set-up arcs also hurt it as far as people giving a fuck).

The most recent thunderbolts revamp is shit and quite frankly, the stuff with Zemo is even MORE bilefull given that Brubaker has gleefully stated that he intends on OBLIVERATING all of the character development that Busiek and Fabian N. did for Zemo to make him one of the most compelling characters at Marvel.
The roster once again is random as fuck, Luke Cage is the fucking WORST person to put in charge of the team (seriously, why not fucking use Songbird and/or the existing T-Bolts? No wait, Songbird is being character-assassinated because cuntwad drawing the book is a fucktard who truly believes "Blondes are inherently good, anyone who has crazy colored hair is dark and evil" shit and the rest are being used as cameo players in their book).
Oh and the bullshit that is Moonstone being treated as goody goody even though she was part of Norman's crew, arguably the most prominent of all of the Dark Avengers, to the point that you have Luke Cage essentially telling Songbird to go fuck herself when she points out the utter INSANITY of Cage wanting to give Moonstone her freedom after her role in the shit Norman pulled!
And the rest of the roster is horrible joke. Crossbones has no place on the team, given that he is an unrepentant villain WHO KIDNAPPED/RAPED/TORMENTED Captain America's girlfriend Diamondback, on top of being part of the murder plot to kill him!
Juggernaut's there for God knows why, and the scene with him featured shows that the writer writing him as a dumb fuck bruiser, and not the complex figure that was the lone bright spot of the Austen X-Men run. Oh and the imposture who calls himself Ghost, despite being devoid of ALL of the traits that made Ghost a cool Iron Man villain and who dresses like Psycho Mantis!
And fucking Baron Zemo back as a villain. Fuck, this is gearing up to be akin to Byrne/Mackie irreversibly fucking up Sandman back in Amazing Spider-Man V2 #4 as far as wholesale character assassinations, ESPECIALLY since Brubaker is on the record of saying that he can't stand the fact that Zemo is popular with fans and that he plans on making "an example" out of him as far as the establishment of the new "order" of the heroic age.
Makes you fucking wish Brubaker would just fucking create a bastard step-child of Heinrich Zemo to use, with Helmet safely tucked away somewhere where the hacks running Marvel these days can't touch him, to wait out the end of the current regime at Marvel before rearing his head.
As it stands, it makes me wish that they would just kill the book/reformat it as an ongoing "Forever" book with Fabian picking up with his original plans for the book had it not been cancelled with #75, and let Fabian go all out towards ripping off The Authority/Squadron Supreme as far as a book where Zemo and company go about saving the world, fuck the rest of the super-hero community. And for DC to shell out as much money as humanly possible to get Brubaker away from Marvel for good, so that his Captain America run can be taken out back, shot in the skull with a shotgun, and pretty much treated like how Marvel treats Teen Tony, as far as things that everyone pretends never happened.

TECHNICALLY Ellis did Captain Orgasm already. Sumo of Stormwatch, under Ellis's pen, was revealed to be in a constant state of orgasm due to his status as an energy being.
Also, Morrison had Emma Frost play the orgasm power card, having her make a bunch of anti-mutant bigots collapse via forced orgasm caused by her teep powers.

Sarah's claim to infamy amongst the royals scandal-wise is kind of memorable given the kinky aspect of it: Sarah being photographed having her wealthy American lover sucking her toes to get Sarah off sexually.....

Both of those however had problems: Freddy Vs Jason got rid of Kane Hodder as Jason, replacing him with a guy who, visually, made Jason seem like a 7 foot tall skinny weaking. Meanwhile the first AvP film was a complete failure; it took the second film to get a decent script/casting for it to work.
As for the Avengers; they need to work instead on bringing in the core secondary Avengers characters to the forefront: Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch, and Hank Pym. I'd jetison the Wasp, since there is too much baggage with Hank Pym to make her work (especially since Ant Man can do everything Wasp can, save for energy blasts) and Scarlet Witch works better as a character dynamic-wise.
In theory, you can do an Avengers film with Cap, Thor, Hawkeye, Ant Man, and Scarlet Witch with Hulk as the pawn of the bad guys and Iron Man limited to simply showing Tony Stark running the team. Maybe handwave out the Iron Man armor via having Tony get the shit kicked out of him in the opening credits of the film, destroying the Iron Man armor.
(And I would not cast Nate Fillon in a role as a character in an Avengers film. The only Whedon regulars I could justify him bringing onboard would be Allyson Hannigan as Scarlet Witch and Alan Tudyk as Hank Pym or Hawkeye. The only way I could see him being used is if they can't get Ed Norton back, at which point they could maybe have Fillon as Bruce Banner/Hulk.)

In a more literal case of 4chan going mainstream, the series finale of Law and Order, the long running and insanely popular NBC show, will revolve around the characters fighting a villain named "Moot", who is using the internet and a gossip board to make threats against teachers and students.....
Moot of course, is also the screenname of 4chan's founder.....

Question time for Paul:
1. Excluding Darkseid, Zod, Brainiac and Lex Luthor, what big time DCU villain would you use to serve as the final "Big Bad" for the last season of Smallville, so as to have the series end with Clark gathering ALL of the heroes of the Smallville universe to band together to save the Earth?
2. Explain your opinion on the legacy and impact upon future shows/stories of "Lost", versus other shows of the '00s (The Wire, The Shield, Battlestar Galactica, Heroes) as far as the impact that it will have on the sci-fi/mystery genre for future generations of writers/tv show producers?
3. Excluding Heroes and Battlestar Galactica, name one mega-popular, long-running drama TV show of the '00s that will be looked back upon by future generations as shit and mocked, as far as wondering how said show could have been popular to begin with?
4. How would you do "Powers", Bendis' comic as a tv show and who would you pick castwise and showrunner-wise.
5. Which version of the Phantom of the Opera is better? Deformed death trap maker or screwed over composer who had acid tossed onto his face?

(Preface: I'm writing this whole thing shitfaced)
DC COMICS MAKES ME WANT TO PUKE
Speaking of shitty writers/editors COMPLETELY mis-reading the room and all: deciding to proclaim their next Apocalyptic Nightmare Scenerio "Brightest Day" all the while hyping it as "The DCU lightens up and stops with the rape/kill/maiming!", is enough to deserve Geoff Johns a special spot in hack writing hell.
Samewise, the fucktards who decided to give the long wanted JLI relaunch to Judd Fucking Winnick, who has decided to fucking further shit on the JLI all in the name of petty vengence towards fandom rejecting him and effectively turning him into persona non-grata amongst DC Editorial.
Oh and the bullshit that is the new Atom being killed off while Renee Montoya and Jaime Reyes continue to breathe. Wait, I take back the Jaime comment and replace it with Jaime needing to be turned into a pathetic loser's loser who exists mainly so that the JLI can treat him like dogshit (while praising Ted) and generally speaking, giving him the Garth Ennic "Humiliation Conga" treatment in JLI Generation Lost, as a bone being tossed to JLI fans who have to read Winnick's shit and who can't get Ted Kord back because Winnick, Rucka, and Johns can't admit to fucking up.
Jaime being turned into a Garth Ennis Professional Victim, who exists only to be mocked, bullied, belittled, injured, raped, and maimed for the amusement of people who hate him/want Ted back, would go along way to at least giving JLI fans what they want, as opposed to Winnick's hack writing trying to grim and gritty the JLI and ruin the brand off once and for all. If you are going to derail and destroy, at least derail and destroy someone fans you are trying to lure back do not like, as a half-assed mea culpa for creating the character at the expense of the popular C-Lister who's pointless death helped alienate scores of longtime readers.
And fuck, it would go a LONG FUCKING WAY to make up for the bullshit that was resurrecting Max Lord and not IMMEADIATELY following it up with Hal, Wonder Woman, Superman, etc all realizing via the White Light Power mindlinking them, that the Max that killed Ted, stole Batman's murder device, brainwashed Superman, and was killed by Wonder Woman was Mr Mind in a maggot infested flesh suit cloned from a blood sample taken from Max. Ape the Xorneto reveal, complete with BN #8 stopping dead in it's tracks so that Max can give the same "You honestly think I would do that shit" speach Claremont had Magneto give that officially established that it wasn't Magneto in that storyline as far as admitting that they are retconning it outright.
And God knows, with his book cancelled and second feature cancelled and his Titans membershit revoked, reducing Jaime to existing mainly so that DC can perpetually abuse him in horrible ways to appease pissed off fans would at least justify the bullshit that is JLI Generation Lost, by at least letting fans know that DC IS LISTENING TO THEM, even if it's the token gesture of having Jaime be belittled TO HIS FACE by every super-hero he meets about how he's not fit to clean Ted's boots and having him stabbed/limbs broken while the rest of the JLI laughs at him.
And fuck, CAN SOMEONE explain to me why the fuck Geoff Johns didn't FORCE James Robinson to rewrite Cry For Justice to remove the torture porn stuff with Ray Palmer if he planned on having Ray be gifted the Indigo Power Cosmos of Compassion? Given the shit that DC took for CFJ, I'm SHOCKED that no one has picked up on THAT bit of character derailment.
Then again, these are the same fucktards who TOTALLY PISSED AWAY relaunching the Legion of the Super-Heroes after bringing back the real Legion via the bullshit that is making them share a book (as the back-up strip none the less) with the boring piece of shit Superboy and then not even bothering to publish it on a regular basis? Not to mention saying "Fuck it" and rapidly churning out V2-V3 era TPBs for the Legion (like say, one TPB A MONTH) to FINALLY collect it all now that Levitz isn't in a position of power to veto his own books being collected, to FINALLY build up a Legion back-catalog that would help lead into the new Legion series?
As it stands, Blackest Night is a HUGE failure and pretty much has derailed the entire DCU in my humble opinion. It's only by a small miracle that Green Lantern and Green Lantern Corps survive unscathed but at the same time, even they seem to be struggling with the weight of continuity rewritting (IE Geoff wiping out most of Carol's career as Star Sapphire and all previous stories involving the Predator so he can try and outdo Brubaker's Englehart fetish) and haphazard story advancement (IE Ganthet and Guy Gardner plotting against the Guardians over their arrogant BS in one book but in the other book, showing the GOTU getting a clue as to how up their asses they are and reversing their BS policies) that undercut whatever it is they are trying to accomplish.
