WATCHMEN: The trailer. Admit it. NERDGLEE. Sadly, if you're confining it to 2008 moments, that's the only one I've experienced. But that is a lovely, lovely moment.

As of late last week, we have fulfilled another allotment of our Advance Orders on the "first wave" of action figures from the "classic series" of DOCTOR WHO. We are currently able to take new orders again on the following in-stock figures: * 4th Doctor [Tom Baker] * 5th Doctor [Peter Davison] * 6th Doctor [Colin Baker] * Sea Devil [from the 3rd Doctor story "The Sea Devils"] * Zygon [from the 4th Doctor story "Terror of the Zygons"] We have stated the following information on our website: (Limited re-supplies Received 13 November 2008)
We will fill all orders to the limit of supplies, as supplies are received, starting with Advance Orders, on a first-come, first-served basis. Additional limited supplies can now be ordered, with expectations of quantities of this assortment being made again in December, 2008, by the manufacturer until orders can be filled. Due to uneven quantities in this assortment, we plan on limiting our own purchases at some point, so Advance Orders placed early are highly recommended.
*STARTING NOVEMBER 17, 2008, WE ARE SUSPENDING NEW PRE-ORDERS OF THE D84, SV7, and Greel & Mr. Sin FIGURES IN THIS SET UNTIL WE HAVE A FIRM DISTRIBUTOR CONFIRMATION OF FURTHER SUPPLIES.We expect to be able to fulfill previously placed standing orders on the remaining three figures in that original assortment, but will be unable to take new orders on these for the present time. Please do feel free to continue to send your want lists, and we appreciate your continued patience. Thank you, as always, for your support. ---Michael & Patty www.mikescomics.com

Just finished watching THE TENTH PLANET; poor Hartnell did not really get a good sendoff.
Interesting to watch just after viewing SUPERNOVA, a truly enjoyably bad TV movie from 2005. Kit Pedler had it half-right with weather being affected by gravity and electromagnetics, and I don't doubt that Robert Halmi, Jr. and Steven Berman are WHO fans.
Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself. To get back to / get started on "The Doctor By Numbers" review series... do we want those posts in this thread, or in its own thread?

The worst part of my grandmother dying is dealing with the estate. Dad is the eldest son, hence we get the lion's share. Amah left us a couple of time-deposit accounts (peso and dollar at two different banks) in which my siblings and me were co-depositors. Then there's all the real estate in my aunt's name since Amah was still a Chinese citizen and couldn't own property in the Philippines. Uncle Manuel reportedly ransacked Amah's room (they live in the same house) looking for the deeds and passbooks (they were is a safe deposit box). Dad told us that Aunt Ruby sold some U.S. property in my grandfather's name by forging his signature. Dad left the family business, Standard Mirror, to start his own because he couldn't trust his own flesh and blood. Mom was still treasurer at Standard, even after that; apparently they forged her signature as well when they reorganized. Needless to say Dad doesn't speak to his brother and sisters, though I'm on good terms with my cousins. Dunno if lawyers will be involved at some point, but if they are it could be years till everything is sorted out in court. You have my sympathies. I am expecting a similar nightmare when Michael's mother dies.

By the way, madame, what's the latest guestimate on my Sarah Jane action figure? And I think I reserved S4 of NuWho with you as well, but I wasn't expecting that until later. Everyone else, consider me a satisfied customer of Patty's. You will probably be getting Series 4 before Sarah Jane, alas. Series 4 scheduled for November 18th. Sarah Jane now pushed back to January 2009. You may now commence with the Waaaaaaaaaaaah. I have saltier language that I've already used for the suppliers, since I have 48 backorders to fill.

Thanks for the links, my dear. Will start research. You do realize, however, that postage alone may well be US$40.00 or more? That's the one factor in the transaction I can't control, as you remember from the earlier STAR WARS book transaction.

Honestly, who cares? I've tried reading the CBR blog to find it banal, obsessed with "mainstream" (Marvel/DC/Image, FOOLS!) tastes, and really not at all that exciting. See, this is why I stay away from most of the "name" websites and forum like Newsrama and CBR and don't comment, because I can't be bothered to care to what the fellow commenters and readers think, hence why I only post here (where I happen to at least respect the people on this forum) or on a few other blogs that I think are generally worthy of merit. Pay it no mind, and move along, I say. Hear, hear. The only purely comics forum I read regularly is PANEL AND PIXEL.
