Man, I'm going to miss this place. But as you said, we interact more on Facebook than we do here nowadays.

So 188 congress critters signed the petition to impeach Philippine Supreme Court Chief Justice Renato Corona yesterday. The Senate will convene as an impeachment court next year. Took them long enough considering how Corona was appointed.

I saw the first few episodes years ago on Solar USA, before any of the Asian HBO channels aired it. Problem was they never seemed to get past the first few episodes, which totally wrecked the long-form storytelling.
(Generally satisfied with receiving overseas parcels at the post office, except that lately there's been a noticeable delay between when it gets them and me getting the parcel notice. In this case the local postmark was November 29. At least I got this sans import duties since the customs inspector was feeling the holiday spirit. Just paid the 40 peso handling/storage fee.)
Haven't finished watching Gilmore Girls S2 and S3, even though I bought the DVDs years ago. 30 Rock S1 and S2 are still shrink-wrapped after I bought them at a 50% off sale. Gonna have to cut down my backlog before buying more TV series DVDs.

Just got my order of The Wire: The Complete Series today. Now all I need is time to watch it all. Helps that I've cut down on my TV viewing lately.

Can't do a one to one comparison since I haven't read The Secret of the Unicorn album yet.

Just saw the Tintin movie in digital 3D. Much better than I expected it to be after seeing clips on TV. Was also the first time I watched a movie in 3D; pricey but worth it (for real 3D, anyway).

"Kiss my Asimov" was the moment I totally loved The Middleman.

The Max Headroom DVD set was released in August last year. Bought it when Amazon's price dropped to nearly 50% off MSRP.
The first episode ("Blipverts") is great. "Rakers" was a bit ridiculous (extreme motorized skateboarding). The booklet includes an essay from the creator of The Middleman (will have to get the DVDs for that next time).

Just got my Max Headroom DVDs today. Crossing my fingers that it lives up to my fond memories of it.

Finished watching FLCL last night. One of Gainax's best works. Found an old article about it by Carl Horn from the now defunct PULP manga magazine website, courtesy of the Wayback Machine, linked on the Wikipedia entry.

Watching Bubble Gum Crisis on Sunday afternoons. Got a good deal on Amazon.com just when I decided to buy it before AnimEigo's license expires (like almost all their anime catalog). Finished the first two discs, including all the extras. Watching the show in Japanese with subtitles since I heard the English dub was bad.

Got my copy of the American Flagg! hardcover last week. Setting side some time to actually read it.
