OK, in an effort to draw in people and get some more posts, I'm declaring this week and this thread to be all about talking about what you enjoy here, and what you want more of.
I'll put my own post here sometime later today, but first, I want to hear from others.
SPEAK! BE HEARD! BE POSITIVE! BE CONSTRUCTIVE!
THIS I COMMAND!

OK, so I guess I'll start.
First, this is the only com I'm a part of, at all. I don't really comment anywhere - I rarely even go to other communities or fora for anything. It's just not how I spend my time, and having grown up in a very nerd-hostile hometown, I've never really had any kind of geek community to speak of. So I'm glad to have a place here.
I'm glad for Kirk for starting this place. I'm glad for Jens because he was the one that brought me here from the MWF (and earlier the original WEF). I'm glad for Paul Pogue for being the honest one. I'm glad for Mario and Robert for being guys with a lot of similar interests. I'm glad for Jard for being a guy who I can't really agree with on much of anything (except that Farscape is awesome), but doing so in a respectful manner 99.99% of the time.
I'm glad for everyone else who contributes, and hopes to continue doing so. We need you here.
Michael

I'm kind of amazed that something that started as a semi-joke on the WEF has survived this long, to be honest.

And I have to thank everyone who's stuck with it.

I'm thankful for this Pumpernickle and having a place to still give people a hard time about reading marvel.
No. Seriously.
You're still reading that?

Okay, joking aside... And granted Facebook has been taking up a lot of my kvetching time this last year... but at least here I can still come to talk about the plethora of subjects that interest me, whom I have absolutely no one else to talk to about.

Frank discussions about geeky stuff. Nobody's afraid to speak their mind or call someone on their bullshit yet there is mutual respect. Plus while the new new SA forum is still my main safety-net for deep crisis the low activity there makes this the main place I connect with people from there day-to-day. Or week-to-week anyway.

For me, this is the one place I have where I can just talk about geeky and nerdy stuff. You're the only people I have who share this part of my interests -- heck, almost all of my interests. Without this place, I'd feel damn lonely.

I don't geek out as much as I used to. But if I was going to, this would be the place.
