vimeo.com/23397794Nifty superhero short film - if it asks for a password, put in "vincentking". It wears its influences on its sleeve. Michael

I think this is great news, but YMMV.
You see, they're making a movie about Parker. The character in those novels by Donald Westlake's Richard Stark penname.
And they've got Jason Statham to play Parker.
I'm psyched. And yes, I've seen Statham play more demanding roles than his usual action fare, so I know that he has the chops to pull this off, with the right script and director.

Watched Thor over a few days last week. It was quite good, a lot better than I had thought.
Also, considering the Asgardians are quite explicitly weird aliens I don't see why people got so upset about black Heimdall.

Also, as long as we already have Asian Asgardians among the Warriors Three, not to mention all the ways in which Lee and Kirby diverged from the actual Norse myths anyway, everyone who's complaining on that front is kind of a hypocrite, unless they're also objecting to the fact that not even the most liberal reading of Bulfinch includes the Destroyer, which is roughly equivalent to giving Iago a nuclear bomb in Shakespeare.

Just so.
I think the movie did a good job of walking the line betwen the comics, the myths and being innovative. My only real objection is that the story was so simple that I'm not interested in watching it again.

Star Trek/Legion of Superheroes is pretty fun - especially if you're a fan of either franchise's rich history.
