The other one is much better, since this one is directly contradicted by the comic - he doesn't think it's a-ok.

"Here's my attitude, if anyone is upset about the marriage going away, then they must all be pro-gay marriage," he continued. "Because if you're pro-gay marriage, you understand the distinction between a marriage and a civil union -- that a civil union is not equal to a marriage. We downgraded Mary Jane and Peter to a civil union. If that bothers you, then you're pro-gay marriage." ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... No seriously. I've read this damn paragraph of his several times over and I can't imagine THAT'S what Guggenheim meant by that but what the fuck sort of thing are you getting at that you couldn't somewhere along the line have thought that one could have worded that better so it doesn't sound so fucking stupid. I even showed this quote to several friends and all of them, after several rereads, had no fucking clue what he was trying to say other then maybe he was a homophobe. On top of that, I really can't see why he would go in this direction in the first place in making this type of comparison. Or at least one from a person who calls themself a writer couldn't have written better.
