Go with the novel, I think. Made of Fail is good and all, but the novel is more likely to succeed in the long run, I think.

If you're not enjoying doing the strip, then don't do it. If you'll enjoy writing a novel more, then do that instead.

Go with the novel, I think. Made of Fail is good and all, but the novel is more likely to succeed in the long run, I think. I always proceed on the assumption that I will not find a publisher for the novel. Sure, I found a publisher for the previous Christopher Price novel, but I wouldn't want to go with them again.

Over on P&P, someone told me that it takes 1-2 years until a webcomic develops worthwhile, sustainable readership numbers.
Having a low frustration threshold and an idea for a novel, which I can't write if I spend all my free time doing Made of Fail, well, I don't see myself doing this for 2 years just for only 40 readers.
That is, quite frankly, not worth my time and effort. I'll rather do the novel.
So I'm going to do the Obama joke, the sex joke, the Ted McGinley joke, before wrapping the entire thing up with a Bye-Bye two-parter. For all practical purposes, that means I'm going to continue updating the strip through June (what, you think I'm going to just toss the remaining unpublished strips into the recycling bin?).
If the numbers go back up to over 100 readers on update day, I might change my mind. But I don't see that happening.
