A year and a half later however, and the most popular and frequesntly updated thread on the board is the OMD/BND thread, which in fact calls itself... The thread that will never die. You all hate it. You proclaim that loudly all the time. You're still buying it. Now where did you get the idea that we're still buying BND? I'm not. I ended my subscription to ASM once OMD started and have refused to buy a single issue of ASM since then. Sure I'll look through the issues at the store, in the hope of finding some improvement. but I refuse to give my money to utter and absolute crap. Instead I now buy Blue Beetle, Invincible, The Sword, you know, good writing that isn't crap. I do like Ultimate Spider-Man and Marvel Adventures Spider-Man, both of which I'll promote because at least it still feels like the real Spidey. Unlike the utter waste of paper that BND has been.

In other words, you're doing what Anders suggested in his post.
Which I agree with, whole heartedly.

"Except that I'm not buying it - I'm not spending any amount of money on it - and I haven't been for coming up on two years now, and to judge from the recent sales drop that Marvel suffered LINE-WIDE in January, which saw 27 of its titles fall off the Top 300 since December (as opposed to only ONE of DC's titles doing the same), I can confidently say that I'm no longer alone in this regard.
Aside from that, I'll simply echo Mike's response to your post."
So instead of writiing threads on how much BMB sucks, and I think we can all agree on that, how about we try to go positive vice negative and come up with writers who could really use the attention. Because other wise, we start to sound more and more like the nerd version of Us Magazine...
"Brian Michale Bendis breaks down into tears! Vows to fight body fat with Jessica Simpson!"

You proclaim that loudly all the time. You're still buying it. Now where did you get the idea that we're still buying BND? Because you're still complaining about it. Me? I don't read Spider-Man. I don't get all OCD about the sales figures as if they were important to me. I don't care. Yes, Marvel did something with Spider-Man that I don't like. I voted with my wallet, I voted out. End of story. Why bother complaining. Marvel is doing things with the Marvel Universe that I don't like. Well, the only Marvel Comic that I'm still reading (Spider-Girl) is about to end. That will be it for me, as far as Marvel Comics are concerned. I don't spend money on them, and I don't whine about it all over the internet. Because it doesn't matter. Actually, it's counterproductive. Every time someone talks about OMD/BND on the internet, someone buys a Spider-Man comic to see what the fuzz is all about. At the end of the day, that is the only thing Marvel cares about. And I have better things to do with my time and my life than obsess about a comic book that I don't even read.

Jens, do you ever get the impression that we gang up on everybody else?

Just because we agree on a lot of things? Nah.
I consider it a logical response to Nerdrageā¢.

Logical, maybe. Productive? Hardly.
Actually, if anything, you're perpetuating the same sort of thing, except you are targeting the nerdrage crowd instead of Marvel. Which, you know, is fine. It's just not better.
Now, take from someone who sees both sides, and does (at least) his fair share for both positive and negative commentary on this board; if you really want things to get more positive, you have to bring your A-game and post. Post frequently, post often, and post positive.
Telling Kirk or Jesse to just STFU won't work. That's the Gore/Kerry/Michael Moore method - point out that their arguements are stupid and they suck and are morons for even breathing out the words and that by default your methods are superior - except that all you end up doing is preaching to the choir. I mean, yay for winning the arguement but losing the war.
You want to win? Get a bigger megaphone, and a crowd and yell out your side of the arguement LOUDER AND CLEARER than the other guy.
You want proof? Look at the Final Crisis thread I started a few weeks back and how I fought with Kirk. And I didn't go back, I didn't stop, and oh yeah, he even admitted that while he didn't agree he shouldn't have gone as far as he did. So, there's my proof for my method.
I look forward to both of you starting some fun and positive threads.
Michael

I look forward to both of you starting some fun and positive threads. You could start by replying to the last positive thread I started, the Made of Fail thread.

I look forward to both of you starting some fun and positive threads. Michael Arrrghhhh! A touch! I do confess!... Actually, that would be an extremely good suggestion.. if I had actually read anything new lately. Which I haven't. The only time I've been able to post anything regularly lately probably all seems negative but that could simply be because I suddenly lack the time to get too involved in anything lately. But I disagreed with Kirk initially because I thought Anders' initial suggestion of stop complaining about Bendis and find something postive to talk about was an extrememly good idea. Still do. Unfortunately, the only good comics I've been reading lately... are old ones.

Nothing stopping you from posting about them. Anders' thread could work, or you could put up a "Good Old Comics you're re-reading" thread. I've thought of doing the same myself. But hey, run with it.
