The air dates explain why I've never heard of it - we didn't get American TV shows over here at that time, at least not in any big numbers.

The oldest shows I remember watching are Soap (which was on when I was about six, I think, making it the late 70's) and Dallas (which was huge in Sweden).

Come to think of it, Soap was pretty good at doing the dramatic on occasion as well. But the best thing about Soap was the sheer wierdness of the show set in a Soap Opera. Demonic possession, alien abduction, not to mention the nest supporting character ever in a series, Benson, only to see that character go off into his own series which turned immediately to suckville.

I hardly remember anything of Soap, other than one character having an identical twin who may have been an alien.
