The scene: Kat and I are putting up a new baby gate. The door frame itself is slightly askew, so as we're screwing in the hinges, they're not quite lining up by about a sixteenth of an inch.
Me: Shouldn't be a problem. I think I can shim it and make it work.
Kat: Or you could make it less complicated and just run a little piece of wood underneath it to make it line up.
Me: (facepalm)
