I'll just copy and paste what I had to say about this on Bleeding Cool. I think that Kurtz went overboard here. He let his hatred of Wizard get the better of him. His reply to Ernst is full of vitriol that has nothing to do with the issues at hand. That Wieringo thing? What does that have to do with anything? Kurtz is just using Ernst's mistake as an excuse to get it off his chest. Not cool. Now, if I had been in Kurtz' place, I would have been equally pissed off at being addressed by the wrong name. If Kurtz had left it at and/or perhaps used some of the sarcasm to pwn Ernst instead of going on a rant, that would have made his point without making him (Kurtz) look like a raving lunatic. If he had acted like Brent in the strip of November 4, where Brent makes some bigoted bitch look like a total ass. This way? Ernst looks like an idiot for not caring enough to get the name right. Kurtz looks like he needs therapy for going too over the top with his reply.

Still, you have to enjoy the irony of Kurtz flipping out because they got his name wrong...and then he mis-attributes a Steve Ditko character to Jack Kirby. ;D

So no one chiming in on the death of Kyle Rayner yet in this week's GLC?

The body count on Blackest Night has already been so stupidly high that there is virtually no way that the vast, vast majority of these deaths won't be reversed. If they aren't then it pretty much solidifies the Geoff Johns has more power over a comic editorial than Millar, Bendis, Morrison et al. COMBINED.

So no one chiming in on the death of Kyle Rayner yet in this week's GLC? a) Yeah, no, it won't last, b) he got one hell of a heroic sendoff, c) it feels like karmic payback nonetheless for his penis being turned into a walking refrigerator and d) this is obviously what pushes Guy Gardner into becoming a Red Lantern. I request that Guy nonetheless remain a Red Lantern after this is done, because it suits him so much better, and that Kyle Rayner be resurrected as the first MALE Star Sapphire, to further atone for setting up so many fridgings of female characters, so that he can literally have a HEALING COCK.

Given how Guy Gardner's general redemption as a character came about because of his relationship with Ice, Guy would make for a much better Purple Lantern than Kyle.
Kyle on the other hand? Perfect Red Lantern given how his loved ones keep getting killed plus the potential of going the route that Kyle's secretly been repressing his rage at Hal Jordan stealing his spot as main Green Lantern since Hal's return.

Precisely. Nobody cares about Kyle's death because everyone knows it won't last. I mean, seriously. Is there anyone out there who doesn't think that the entire point of Blackest Night is to bring back every freaking DC character that has ever been killed? That goes double if you take the event's bodycount into account. One rumor had it that Kyle would become a Blue Lantern, but it wouldn't surprise me if he were to become a Rainbow/White Lantern instead. Guy as a Red Lantern works for me. And I agree that those should remaind their status quos.

Here's something I never thought I'd say: Clark's action in the most recent episode of Smallville are actually in alignment with the character of Clark both in the Superman comics and are internally consistent with the depiction of Clark in the show itself.
WHOA.
OK, now it's a given that his attempts to redeem Zod are going to end in miserable, miserable failure. But at the same, time, hell, it even parallels the current "New Krypton" arc, and it's perfectly in character for Superman to give everyone the benefit of the doubt and a chance to live up to higher expectations. He's Superman, it's what he does.
In terms of Smallville the TV show continuity, Clark trying to use trust to reform Zod makes sense if you see Zod as a parallel to Lex Luthor - he didn't trust Lex, and because of that, things escalated. So now, he's trying a different approach and hoping for the best.
Will it end badly?
Of course it will.
But it's completely within character, and for Smallville, that's a goddamned rarity.

Cyclops is ALIVE!" in between two panels of the Dark Phoenix saga has a game-changing status quo shift been so rapidly undone.

Even funnier is the way that they've effectively "fixed" the fridging of Kyle's GFs via the plot point that Kyle's life is COMPLETELY dependant on his new GF staying alive as far as Soranik's heart now functioning both for her own body AND Kyle's.

That makes me wonder what will happen when Kyle and his GF break up.
